This workshop gives a little taste of what our Women’s Only Program entails at Pacific Top Team. This program is extraordinary because it is geared toward empowering women with a new set of skills, self-confidence, positive energy and physical training.
These elements affect every aspect of life.
We teach a couple critical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques in this workshop. The philosophy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is based on the principle of leverage and proper technique over strength and size. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept of a weaker person being able to defend against and defeat a bigger, stronger adversary by using joint manipulation and a variety of chokes. This martial art throughout it’s history has proven itself time and time again to be highly regarded as one of the most effective martial arts in the world.
This workshop is for any female (ages 12+) who want to learn how to protect themselves. Experience is not necessary, and all fitness levels welcome!
Participation is by donation. All funds go towards sending our athletes to the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships as they represent Canada!
Support our athletes and learn a new skill!
Taught by Sarah Draht, 5 time Pan-Am Champion, Worlds Silver and Bronze Medalist, and worked security at pubs for quite a few years!
